What is Whole Food Plant Based Nutrition?

At Sage Garden’s Teaching Kitchen in Bandera our classes focus on Whole Food Plant Based Nutrition. These foods consist of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, legumes (beans, peas, lentils), nuts and seeds with minimal amounts of oil, sugar and salt that are minimally processed and refined. These whole foods have all the nutrients and fiber our bodies need for optimal health and efficiency just as “mother nature” intended . Sage Gardens Teaching Kitchen features workshops that focus on the fun of making these foods taste delicious, flavorful and satisfying without counting calories. Instead of being told what not to eat, you’ll be learning to put more wholesome foods on your plate. Our goal is that you’ll enjoy these whole grains, fruits and vegetables so much that you will begin to choose whole foods rather than less healthy options.
